perform fine alterations at each of our locations.
Margaret’s takes care of anything from minor
mending to major resizing and styling. Our seamstresses
are trained and experienced in the European style
of Couture Alterations, which includes extensive
hand detail work and expert pressing upon completion.
Every garment is finished and ready to wear. Even
though it is a common request, we are sorry but
we do not provide dress or garment making.
Our
staff experience includes extensive alterations
of wedding gowns including resizing, restyling,
and even creative methods to either update or restore
vintage gowns. Another specialty of Margaret’s
Cleaners is the tailoring and repair of St. John
and other knits. We provide a re-knitting service
to maintain the manufacturer’s original termination
upon alteration and the ability to re-knit for
moth holes or damaged fabric. Our Clean-By-Mail™ service
is a perfect compliment to our knit repair service.
Knit garments ship well and maintain a ready-to-wear
finish.

We recommend making an appointment if you need an extensive fitting
session, but it is generally not required.
